SXSL was quite possibly the best event I have ever been to in my life. It is safe to say that President Obama is the only president who would ever think to take the concept of SXSW and host it on the South Lawn of the White House, bringing together tech and arts influencers from around the world to perform, speak, think and meet each other. It was absolutely extraordinary. Leonardo DiCaprio premiered his film about climate change and sat alongside Obama and climate tech expert Katharine Hayhoe to discuss the future of safe and efficient energy. Daybreaker hosted a huge dance party for all attendees. Young Guru performed at the afterparty. I sat down in conversation with the founder of Pitchfork Ryan Schreiber and CTO at the White House Megan Smith. It was a dream culmination of creative intellectuals who are pushing the needle on arts, innovation and social justice in their respective industries. I wore a pink outfit of a print of Drake crying, made by Cool Shit.
