April Shenanigans on the East Coast

I spent the past two weekends on the East Coast playing shows and seeing friends. April 14th was Lumen8Anacostia at the Lightbox Warehouse in SE, where Thomas Blondet and I played a live set for Mayor Gray and Marion Barry. On April 15th evening I played with Sitali and Huda at Bossa, followed by 18th Street Lounge. Cioffi was there working with FoodCorps, so we had a grand reunion and I got to meet many of her friends when they came to check out the show. Not to mention key DC ladies DC Oprah and Jana who joined the reunion as well.

The following Saturday 4/21 I was in New York City for the Chapin reunion. Saw key high school homies and threw back to times around Manhattan where I grew up. On Sunday 4/22 I bussed down to DC for a larger reunion including Noya Yasso and Queer Pressure, for their debut show and Gtown babe reunion. Played 18th Street Lounge with Thomas Blondet, crossed the Key Bridge at 4am with my math professor, bussed to Dulles, flew back to LA and was back at work by 10am Monday.

This is what DC Oprah my hype lady Lijia Gong emailed out:

April 15th, 2012

Most of you have heard me hype Kiran , one of the best performers and drummers around. Unfortunately Kiran only graces us with her presence once in a blue moon since she principally lives in LA–just hanging out with MIA at Interscope, NBD. But tonight, she will be performing in DC!!

@ 8:30 @ Bossa  and
@ 11 @ ESL

I will definitely be at the show at ESL and likely bossa as well, and you all should join me!

If you need any convincing, just watch this:
Hope to dance with you all tonight ❤
