BBC Radio: Sustainability in Sound — Nature Music ft. Madame Gandhi

Sustainability in Sound: Nature Music

By Mary Anne Hobbs for BBC

We continue our exploration of creating and producing music using the natural world. Today, artist, producer and DJ Brian D’Souza, aka Auntie Flo, takes us on a journey to make music from mushrooms, using biosonification to transform signals from mushrooms and other living organisms into experimental electronic music. We’ll also hear from Madame Gandhi, an electronic music producer, drummer and activist who has made music directly from climate change, sampling the sounds of melting glaciers in Antarctica.
