2018 Reflections

This year I fell in love with a certain boxer, ran two marathons, toured the world with my best friend, had the honor of mentoring one of the brightest young up-and-comers in the industry, spoke about modern fourth wave feminism at colleges across the country, playlisted over 1,200 female/femme/queer identifying artists on my weekly Spotify playlist, made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, put out two feminist anthems that were recognized by The New York Times, Noisey and OkayAfrica and licensed by The North Face, GAP and Starbucks, traveled to 29 new cities, educated 1,000+ LA voters in my home about the midterm election ballot, volunteered at womxn’s shelters, refugee camps and prisons, drummed for four of my favorite artists @kehlani, @lizzobeating, @tvontheradio and @ambercoffman, gave a @TED talk, stayed consistent with my boxing/running/surfing/CrossFit/Bikram/SoulCycle each week and eating clean, honored my practice of twice daily meditation and worked actively on developing my own emotional intelligence so that I can continue to be the best version of myself for others. This year, my only goal is more of the same. More music, more wellness, more feminism, more love. Not to seek love, but to be love. #ownyourvoice #Thefutureisfemale Photo by @fightingfrankie Michelle Muñoz
