Red Bull Radio: Headphone Highlights Madame Gandhi: The Future Is Female

By Red Bull Radio for Red Bull Radio

The passionate intersectional feminist, multi-talented musician and M.I.A. drummer presents a selection of powerful tracks.

Kiran Gandhi’s career has been a balancing act. Born in Boston, she spent time in both Bombay and New York as a child; she graduated from Georgetown University, worked at Interscope Records and used her skills in mathematics to analyze data for Spotify. She recorded drums for M.I.A.’s 2012 hit song “Bad Girls” (under the name Madame Gandhi) and then toured with M.I.A. for the album Matangi. But she switched it up again soon after, enrolling in Harvard Business School. She released her debut EP, Voices, in 2015, and in 2017 collaborated with female-identifying producers to release Voices Remixed. A passionate intersectional feminist, Gandhi uses her performative and academic talents to translate her political ideas.
