This year at SXSW was the first year I was invited to speak and perform at official showcases. This had always been a dream. It was my 6th SXSW and was DIY af. Shlepping merch and drums and luggage in a van, parking in alleys behind the venue for load in, scrambling to find parking and then make it back in time to the venue to play the actual show…but it happened and it was incredible. We played BabesFest ATX, The Sol Life Collective Party, the TOMS shoes showcase, the MUD Mag Party and The South Asian Showcase. I also spoke on 3 panels about being a DIY musician, a woman in music and about patrons in the arts. Photos and video below.
