The organizers of the Hit Like A Girl female drumming contest, in conjunction with Swing House Studios and New York University (NYU), are proud to announce two exciting drum events scheduled to take place in Los Angeles and New York the first two weekends in February.
February 6 Los Angeles Drumming Invasion
The first festival, taking place on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 1:00 to 7:00 PM at Swing House Studios (3229 Casitas Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90039) in Los Angeles, features clinics and performances by Kimberly Thompson (Beyoncé/Late Night with Seth Meyers), Gina Schock (The Go-Go’s) and the Los Angeles debut of artist/educator Emmanuelle Caplette. Also on the bill are a panel discussion moderated by Kiran Gandhi (MIA) with Samantha Maloney, Alicia Warrington, Val Sepulveda and Venzella Joy and an appearance by an all-girl, all-star band from the Los Angeles area School Of Rock music schools. Sponsors include DW, Evans, Promark Gretsch, Sonor, Zildjian, Sabian, Mapex, NFUZD, Paiste, TRX Vic Firth, Swing House, Musician’s Institute, School Of Rock and Hit Like A Girl. In addition, the Los Angeles event will offer hands-on demonstrations of the latest drum gear from Mapex and NFUZD.
