On December 15th, 2013, my team at the LA Athletic Club played an intense day of squash against 5 other teams. I only knew some of the members in the tournament. When I found out my team (of 5 members) was all women and a gay black man, I was incredibly happy. These are not common demographics found in the squash community!!! AND THE BEST PART OF IT ALL WAS THAT WE WON!!! It was so amazing, none of us were expecting it, but I think because we all really bonded over each point and each game, the comeraderie and team spirit totally helped!!! Ahhhh I was so happy. That day, I also met two of my favorite people in LA, Emily & Victoria.
